Target the right customers | Age of Acquisition
As retailers, we often cater to our existing customer base. We buy what we know are current customers will love. Yet each business needs to expand it’s customer base by adding products and styles that appeal to a new face. We can do that by identifying who we want to cultivate as a new customer, and bring in products that appeal to that person.
The “Age of Acquisition” is the time period in a consumer’s life when they purchase more items than in other times in their life.
Often for consumers, it’s age 25-35. This is when many people buy a home, buy a car, and buy furnishings for the first time. They have disposable income, and they can’t wait to spend it!
