It’s another “Melrose Moment.” Watch as our special projects designer, Ken, shows you how to embrace the woodland trend with our adorable, and oh-so-lovable, hedgehogs.
He’s cute, quirky and a little bit edgy. Meet our newest trend obsession for home décor—the hedgehog.
For Fall/Winter 2012, we’re loving the new Habitats trend. This trend is all about bringing nature to you. Whether it be in your home, on your body or at the office, this trend is about bringing the outdoors and all of its beauty to you.
On the tail feathers of the bird trend, this newest trend embraces the woodlands—think feathers and nests and wood, mushrooms, moss and bark—and the creatures who live there. Owls, deer and wolves all made appearances on the runways during 2012’s Fall Fashion Week, and even more woodland creatures are popping up in home décor and home furnishings.
So why the hedgehog? He’s a little bit different, a little edgy if you will. The hedgehog is whimsical, animated and can add life to any arrangement. See for yourself by watching this video from MelTV and downloading step-by-step instructions for Ken’s “Hedge on the Edge” special project here.
And if you love the Habitats trend, know that the bird trend is still very much “in” this fall. Turkeys, quail and other woodland birds will all be making appearances this fall in our arrangements. So who’s who in the bird trend? The owl. See how to add life to your fall arrangements with the on-trend owl with this video from Ken. Step-by-step instructions can also be downloaded here.
