While we at Melrose were tremendously honored to be named the 2012 Vendor of the Year by Smart Retailer magazine, we know that it would not have been possible without the strong relationships we have with our fabulous retailers.
We have always felt that the recipe for the success of our business is to provide outstanding value, expert design, quality products and superior customer service. It’s not a difficult formula, but it is one that works for us, and it is one that is implemented by our entire team.
In recent years, we’ve worked to provide our customers with the very best, in products, pricing and, of course, customer care. These improvements have been made possible by the open lines of communication we have with our retailers, who have provided us with useful feedback.
“When the recession hit in 2008,” Brad Gullion, our vice president of sales and marketing, explained to Smart Retailer for their article, “we felt we needed to expand the line and really go for it.” This was in addition to changes being made to pricing. Gullion added, “We set it up so retailers didn’t have to buy a case to get case prices. We wanted to help our retailers.”
Paramount as always to us at Melrose is our customer service. Even though we are an international company, we feel it is important to have a very personal approach to our customer service. As Smart Retailer pointed out in their article, this commitment takes many forms, including allowing our retailers to order at trade shows, through company representatives, on the phone, or through fax or our website. Our customer service also includes offering ad images, projects and MelTV (which features videos, new products, design tips and trends) at melroseintl.com.
